SUMMARY: The Market Research Analyst will be responsible for researching market data and trends to drive and support R&D efforts, business development focus and business investments.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

  • Consults with marketing and senior management team to understand and shape primary and secondary market research to address their business questions.
  • Monitors and evaluates market trends and activities (market insights, import/export data, customer and competitor intelligence), provides analysis and recommendations to senior, marketing and sales management in order to identify areas in the market where business can be developed.
  • Develops and delivers clear, concise and compelling presentations of relevant marketplace intelligence.
  • Validate current hydrocolloid market size data in finished food segments by specific gums for North America.
  • Develop situation analysis for target food segments and make recommendations on how to effectively penetrate.
  • Develops organizational understanding and satisfaction with consumer research insights, monitors external sources for competitive trends and emerging consumer trends,
  • Research and analyze competition to inform business development, and product commercialization activities.
  • Maintains current knowledge of industry trends and best marketing research practices; makes recommendations to improve current programs and processes.
  • Provides monthly competitive and industry intelligence updates
  • Follows all company safety rules in performing job duties.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
B.S. degree in Marketing or related field and 5 -8 years of related experience in market research or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Excellent written abilities as part of the role. Ability to write routine correspondence and reports. Ability to speak effectively with employees of the organization and customers.

OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES:
Ability to work with specific computer software programs, CRM, excel, other database programs, Microsoft Office.

Travel up to 15%.
